A dream stay at Larsens In august 2023 I had the amazing opportunity to spend a few days at the remarkable Larsens camp. The entire experience was absolutely magical and unforgettable. From our arrival, the scenery and set up of the camp was breathtaking. Located on the banks of the ewaso nyiro river, our tent was a blend of comfort and style offering modern amenities. It was spacious and beautifully decorated, connecting us to the Samburu wilderness in the most luxurious way. The staff were just spectacular. Always greeting us with smiles and answering to our every needs, ensuring that our stay was smooth and enjoyable. Their warm and attentive approach made us feel like royalty. Our meal times hold some of our best memories. The gourmet meals served on the outdoor deck overlooking the river was some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Catering to some of our groups specific dietary requirements didn’t stop the chefs from providing exquisite meals each time. The freshness and quality of the food was outstanding. Our lovely guides took care of us like no other. They would take us on thrilling game drives every mornings and evenings and their keen eye ensured us always seeing something special. We encountered lazing lions, leopards, cheetahs and their cubs, the beautiful reticulated giraffe, the gravy zebra, elephants and so much more. In the evenings they would tell us extraordinary stories of their Samburu maasai culture. Besides the game drives we definitely made use of the camps amenities. Spending afternoons by the pool and having the most luxurious massages in the gorgeous spa left us feeling absolutely refreshed. The highlight of our stay was the beautiful male elephant that greeted us right by the outdoor deck as we were finishing our lunch. After he crossed the shallow river he ate leaves and shrubs by one of the shading trees. Less than 4 meters away we watched in awe as he got angry at the irritating monkeys above in the trees. He was simply glorious. Overall, Larsens camp felt like a dream. Offering a truly out of this world experience, from staff, amenities, food, and game. We particularly liked the eco- friendly approach the camp ensures towards the surrounding environment and were delighted to see that despite the most glorious and luxurious experience, we were assisting the beautiful landscape. Exceeding all expectations, we would definitely recommend this perfect destination to those looking for a blend of adventure and luxury. We’ve left with a heart full of memories. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s an experience that will stay with you forever!

A genuine feeling of being a special guest! Certainly the luxury tents were comfortable, spacious and accommodating. The location was amazing and close to the most animal sitings the park is famous for. Great meals, and the kitchen fully considered our dietary preferences and restrictions. All that said, these features were expected by us when we booked the location. What made our three day experience at Soroi lodge special are the people. Each staff member from the manager to every porter, took the time to get to know us and quickly learn to anticipate our every need and want. The staff combined with a great lodge, created a wonderful experience that left nothing for wanting. You can't go wrong by choosing Soroi.

The best!!! This August, my family (mom, dad, and sister) and I (17 years old), explored Kenya through a safari, and stayed at a total of three different locations throughout the country. I can confidently say that this camp was by far the most exceptional and hospitable location that we stayed in amongst those three, if not the best one we have ever been at ever! There are many things to praise, but here are the parts of our experience that we deemed the most positively impactful: 1. The food was incredible, easily accessible, and always brought within a reasonable time. There was a very large variety of cuisine and something new to try every day. It is also important to mention that I have an extremely sensitive stomach and often suffer horrible GI issues when I travel internationally, but there was no such problems here. All of the food was very well tolerated by my stomach, and was very fresh and properly prepared. 2. The accommodations themselves, meaning the "tents", where large, easy to navigate, and very comfortable. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the mosquito netting around them worked very well— I got no bites!! Upon returning from our afternoon safari, we saw made beds, cleaned floors and surfaces, and refilled water pitchers/ tanks. The cleaning staff was extremely respectful of our belongings and space, and even worked around our daily schedules to make sure that they were not interrupting our rest times. 3. The camp itself was very clean and well maintained. In all honesty, the camp is rather large, and I got lost more than once while trying to find my way around, however, every time I seemed even a bit confused, a staff member kindly approached me and offered their assistance to help me find my way back. There was some construction going on while we were staying at this camp, but somehow, we couldn't even tell! I believe that goes to show just how careful and considerate the staff are, and of course, how thoughtful and prepared the people in charge of logistics, planning, and management are. 4. This leads to my next point, in which I want to especially recognize the staff. The two managers, Harleen and Sheena, both of whom accommodated our every need and always checked up on us. Duncan and Dan, our waiter and barman, both of whom remembered every detail of our orders and always minded my stomach issues. Nelly, the incredible masseuse, whose work compares to no one else I have ever met (seriously, she is incredible, do yourself a favor and get a massage). And of course, everyone else, who made our experience one of a kind. I absolutely and wholeheartedly recommend!

Rugged and Beautiful at the Same Time!! Larsen's Camp has undergone a complete renovation. The tents are large and very comfortable beds and linens that kept us warm during the night. The bathroom/dressing area is very nice as well. They provide fresh water in the tents. The food was very delicious and the wait staff could not have been more wonderful. The pool is very nice to cool off between game drives! Joshua was our guide and he is a very wonderful guide and worked hard to find the animals for us to see and he did a great job!! From following a pride of lions reconnecting to a mother cheetah feeding her cubs, we had a wonderful time exploring Samburu!!!

Lovely camp Larsens is lovely! Nice unusual touches in the rooms. Tents are very spacious, and while they are canvas for that great safari camp feel, there are wooden frames on the doors so they are easier to open and close than normal camp tents. Also nice touches not seen often in safari camps, such as a delivery box for your 6am coffee/tea before safari. Most camps bring it to the front "door". This box allows them to deliver it while you are still in bed, close it, and therefore gives you privacy at 6am. Brilliant! Setting on the river is lovely, a huge deck on the riverbank and nice breezes in hot Samburu.

Perfect place to stay in Samburu with kids Definitely one of our best trips to Samburu! We travelled to Soroi Larsens Camp right after they'd opened early July and everything was done to make sure our family stay was perfect. Food was amazing, the rooms are big and cosy and the location of the camp is the simply the best in the Samburu NR. Most importantly, the staff was awesome at all times (in particular with our small kids). If you need a kids friendly place in Samburu, this is the place to go!

Soroi has come to Samburu!!! As a US-based travel operator based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico offering photographic wildlife and cultural trips all over the world, it is safe to say that I have stayed in more properties than the average traveler and adventurer. I took my first group to Soroi Larsens Camp in Samburu, Kenya last week. At the minimum, I go at least once a year to Samburu and have always stayed at a camp called Elephant Bedroom Camp which is the next camp down river from Larsens. I admit to being hesitant to change camps because I have always enjoyed Elephant Bedroom Camp. A friend highly suggested that I give this camp a try with my group this year, and I am so happy that I did. The camp sits right along the Ewaso Ngiro river. Each tent is on the river and every day one can see elephants crossing in front of their tent as well as giraffe, baboon and so many other animals. The tents are large, beautifully decorated (Morocco style) and incredibly clean! There is 24-hour hot water, internet and power. Elephant Bedroom Camp shut down power from 9am to 6pm which was a problem for photographers who need to charge batteries and laptops. They have a full spa which my group used daily and raved about. The staff was not only over-the-top ready to please, but they were fun and made my group feel so welcome. The manager. Shireen, had a watchful eye which was present everywhere all the time and she made me feel that her only job was to keep my group and me happy (all though there of course were other guests in camp). The food was delicious - every meal - including our "bush breakfast". I now have a "new home" in Samburu which was beyond a pleasant surprise. Thanks to the staff and managers for making our three night stay so wonderful. Oh....Samburu is an amazingly beautiful park filled with wildlife!

Best camp in Samburu I would say that this is the best camp that someone could find in Samburu. Right in the middle of the Samburu Reserve, by the river, with a professional and friendly team. Tents were over the top, we could not have had a better experience in Samburu.

THE BEST IN SAMBURU We were a family of 4 people and we spent two unforgettable days. Animals at the foot of the pool, spectacular sunrises, luxury cabin taking care of the smallest detail, night campfire in good company, charming staff and what to say about the chef, luxurious food. "TO REPEAT A THOUSAND TIMES"

A highlight of our trip to Kenya. Staying at Soroi Larsen’s Camp was a highlight of our visit to Kenya in Jul 23. We were a group of 16 made up of 3 family groups. Larsen’s Camp was our stay in Samburu Reserve. We had been to Larsen’s about 14yrs ago so had high hopes based on our previous experience. Under new management and ownership, it’s safe to say every expectation we had was exceeded. The tented accommodation is some of the best i’ve experienced, particularly their family tents which sleep 4 under the same roof but split into 2 distinct rooms each with their own ensuite. They are extremely well appointed and spacious. The staff couldnt have been more accommodating. Every request was catered for. Food was beautifully prepared and presented. The management team under Chantel were awesome and every touch was personalised to our group. They quickly picked up what each member enjoyed and catered to that. Personalised service like this really made the Larsen’s experience a high point of our visit. To top it all off, we had the pleasure of being Soroi Larsen’s first customers. The only regret here was that Larsen’s was one of our FIRST stops and not at the back end of our visit and our fantastic experience there quickly became the bar against which we measured all the other lodges and camps where we stayed. A heartfelt thanks to Team Soroi Larsens for the wonderful memories we’ll take away from our stay!
